Encarta and Encarta Kids

From science to history to geography, Encarta can help you figure it out, and fast! Encarta is a disc that you put in your computer. you download the program, and you can start learning! It is basically a virtual encyclopedia, with info on many topics.

Encarta is also available for kids! Encarta Kids is easier to navigate, and uses smaller words that are easier for little kids to understand. There are games, as well as information pages, on Encarta Kids.

Unfortunately, you can't buy Encarta in computer software stores anymore. If you are rummaging around in a second hand store and you find an Encarta disc, buy it and let the learning begin!

Bamboo Splash Tablet

This one isn't an app or a website, but an accessory (like a mouse). The Bamboo Splash Tablet is a tablet that you plug in to your laptop. It comes with a disc to download software, and there are more software downloads on the Wakom website.
The Bamboo Splash Tablet comes with a pen with a pressure-sensitive tip. When you use a drawing app on your Bamboo Dock, the pressure-sensitive tip will sense how hard you are pushing on the pen. If you don't push hard on the pen, it will make a thin line. If you press hard, it will make a thick line.
The Bamboo Splash Tablet comes pre-loaded with some helpful and fun apps. One of these is the tutorial. This is the app with a graduate hat as the symbol. Scribble or click on this app to learn about using the pen.
When you press the plus sign button on your Bamboo Dock, the Bamboo app store will pop up. You can download more free apps for your Bamboo Splash Tablet here. Some of my favorites are Philter, Paper Cakes and Live Brush.

Fantage

I'll start with one of my favorite sites. Fantage! Fantage is a site where you can play games, make friends, get pets, customize your avatar, and much much more!
There are many locations in Fantage where you can play games, but the location with the most games is the carnival. The names of a few are rocket board, whack a veggie, and buzzer beater. you can earn stars (currency) by playing games.
You can buy pet eggs in the pet shop in pet town. You can also buy them pre-hatched at trade and sell.
Speaking of trade and sell, that's just one of the shops in Fantage! There's also le shop, steller salon and loco boards, just to name a few.

P.S: Fantage does not work on i pods or i pads. Use Fantage on a computer.
